Plant tanning was the main tanning method until the 20th century and is becoming increasingly important again. It uses extracts of bark, leaves, fruits, berries, roots and wood. This tanning method is environmentally friendly and safe for tanners as well. Vegetable tanned leather is left to breathe. Drying can take up to 2 weeks before it acquires a beautiful beige shade. The elements of nature seep into its surface layer over time, reinforcing its authentic and rustic character. This notebook will age beautifully over time.
